Teens Robbed at Outside Killeen Tanning Salon by Man Claiming to Have a Knife
A man who robbed two teenagers outside of a Killeen tanning salon Tuesday morning reportedly hitched a ride with a random woman after fleeing the crime scene.
According to our news partner, KWTX, the two victims were waiting for a relative outside Sun Catchers Tan, 1100 Lowes Blvd., when the suspect approached them.
The man reportedly asked if they were racist, then told them he had a knife and demanded they give him cash.
After receiving $30 from one of the victims, the man began walking toward Trimmier Road. He approached a woman exiting a nail salon next door to Sun Catchers and asked her for a ride, which she agreed to provide.
Police do not believe the woman knows the man or was aware of the robbery.
She and the suspect were last seen headed west toward Trimmier.
The suspect was described as a tall, slender, bald black man around 40-years-of age.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Killeen Police Department at (254) 501-8830.
