Four adults and two juveniles are behind bars after leading police on a chase following a home invasion in Temple.

Police were called to the Glenn Apartments in the 2600 block of South 39th St. in Temple Friday morning. Officers were advised that several men broke through the door of an apartment. A shot was fired at some point, but police have not elaborated upon the circumstances of the gunfire. No injuries were reported.

Shortly after police responded to the crime scene, a Chevrolet Tahoe matching the description of that in which the suspects fled was spotted in the 5300 block of West Adams. The vehicle made several turns before stopping, then sped away as officers approached on foot.

When the Tahoe finally stopped in a cul-de-sac in the 4600 block of Teesh Dr., three people fled on foot. The passengers left behind were arrested immediately. Two of those who fled were captured after a short foot chase, but one escaped.

In a statement issued Friday afternoon, Acting Public Information Officer Sergeant Pete Ramirez said the identities of the suspects are being withheld pending formal charges. The investigation continues at this time.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
