School Bus Driver Trapped After Bus and Dump Truck Collide on I-35 Access Road

A Bruceville-Eddy school bus driver was trapped Monday afternoon after the vehicle and a dump truck collided on an I-35 access road near mile marker 318 between Temple and Waco.

The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. after the driver of the dump truck lost control of the vehicle, and one source says there may be as many as 15 injured. Bruceville-Eddy emergency responders reportedly requested the Jaws of Life and a medical helicopter was called to the scene.

Six students were taken to area hospitals, as was the driver who was trapped in the school bus. She was flown to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. An adult aide who was thrown from the bus was also taken to the hospital, and authorities say her injuries are not life-threatening. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
