Riley Cooper And The N-Word
Riley Cooper, the Philadelphia Eagles receiver who has apologized for using a racial slur that was caught on video at a Kenny Chesney concert, has had a bounty put on him by Michael Vick's brother, although the Eagles quarterback has defended his teamate. "Hey I'm putting a bounty on Riley's head, 1K to the first free safety or strong safety that light his (expletive) up! Wake him up please....".Marcus Vick wrote on Twitter. Before everything got out of control Michael Vick disagreed with his brothers statement, but the fact remains many of Cooper's black teammates on the Eagles are mad at the words Cooper used and moving foward how will effect the team and what will the rest of the NFL, which is 70 percent black react . Cooper has already been fined an undisclosed amount by the Eagles but some are calling for some type of suspension. So far the league office has only said "The NFL stands for diversity and inclusion.Comments like this are wrong ,offensive and unacceptable." So is it a simple case of a young man having to much to drink and saying something he wished he hadn't said or is his apology based on the fact he meant to use the N-Word and is sorry it was recorded on someone's camera phone. Moving foward how will this play out with his teammates, the fans at large, social media, sports talk radio and many African-American players past and present, one thing is for sure this story is not going away any time soon. Watch the video and decide for yourself what Cooper's intent was
