The memorial service for former Kiss 103.1 fm Program Director JJ Jackson will be this Friday, May 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Veterans Cemetery on Rt. 195 in Killeen, underneath the pavilion.

JJ Jackson (Samuel Walder) was born March 28, 1949, and passed away on May 18, 2014. He graduated from the Institute of Broadcasting Arts in Chicago, Illinois, and wnet on to work at WVON-AM, WGCI-FM, and KSSM-FM. He was the Chicago Bulls Pre-Game Broadcast Announcer from 1980 to 1981 and the Game Broadcast Annoucner from 1981 to 1982, and later went on to be an on-air sports announcer for the No. 1 ranked University of Illinois's own music format program.

Jackson also worked as an on-air personality for the Tom Joyner Morning Show for Chicago, Dallas, and Copperas Cove, and the Doug Banks Show in Dallas. Our radio family will truly miss him.
