R. Kelly Says He Once Proposed Marriage To His Mother

Earlier this week, GQ Magazine released a 45 minute video of R. Kelly recanting his life story through singing and at some points talking. Its a fascinating and at times "uncomfortable" look at one of the most talked about artists of our era. But the talk of the nation has been this one minute clip of Kelly describing his breakfast trips to McDonald's with his mother where he reveals that he once proposed marriage to his mother as a young boy.

Now opinions on this have been mixed, with some folks saying that there's nothing wrong with a young child who doesn't understand the concept of love to ask his mother for her hand in marriage, to others feeling like he was "too old" and should have understood the difference.
