An ex-girlfriend of R. Kelly has come forward to accuse the singer of physical abuse.

According to a report TMZ published today (Jan. 28), Kelly's ex Halle Calhoun claims that Kelly attacked her in a jealous fit of rage while backstage at a concert in 2017. Calhoun, who was between 19 and 20 years old at the time of the alleged attack, says she was backstage at one of Kelly's shows watching him perform just before she was assaulted. Calhoun says that, after his set, Kelly walked up to her and accused her of looking at another man.

After Kelly made the accusation, Calhoun reportedly shoved Kelly, which led the singer to retaliate. He allegedly grabbed Calhoun by her clothes and "around her neck" before he tossed her "like a rag doll" against the wall. Calhoun, who says the alleged attack was witnessed by Kelly's other alleged victims Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, also claims that the attack left her necklace broken. She says the necklace had irreplaceable, sentimental value to her. According to Calhoun, this instance marked just one of at least three violent incidents that took place during the course of their relationship.

A source from Kelly's camp denies Calhoun's story and says that the singer isn't naturally violent. The source also claims that if it did happen, there would be video and it would've been sold by now. Calhoun hasn't confirmed whether she will pursue legal action since she's happy back home in Georgia dating rapper Rocko.

Kelly is currently under criminal investigation in Georgia in the aftermath of Lifetime's Surviving R. Kelly docuseries. He's also reportedly being investigated by the FBI.
