President Obama in Fort Hood!
At a Monday afternoon press conference, Col. Paul Reese, III Corps and Fort Hood chief of operations, and Chris Grey, U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman, talked about the investigation into the April 2 Fort Hood shooting. Col. Reese also outlined plans for a memorial ceremony on April 9. President Obama is scheduled to attend the ceremony.
All Fort Hood Soldiers and their families along with Fort Hood Department of the Army civilians and their families are invited to the April 9 memorial. Due to limited space, access will be on a first come basis. DoD identification is required. The ceremony will be held at Sadowski Field at the III Corps Headquarters Building at 2pm.
As for the investigation Grey did confirm that the alleged shooter, Specialist Ivan Lopez, had an argument with another soldier about his request for leave right before the shooting. Grey then walked reporters through the basic scenario that his office had "re-created from our investigation thus far."

Reese also said that "Fort Hood has received an enormous outpouring of donation support from our local and national communities. We thank you for your generosity to our Soldiers and their Families affected by this event. Currently, all donations are being accepted by The National Center for Victims of Crime. Please visit their Web site at www.NationalCompassionFund.org in order to donate."
