27-year-old Daniel Eugene Sands was booked into the Bell County Jail Thursday on a charge of making a false report to a police officer. His bond has been set at $3,000.

Killeen police and a Fort Hood explosives unit were called to the USAA Bank at 900 West Central Texas Expressway Wednesday morning after reports of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Sands was detained but not arrested at the scene and a small robot was deployed to test a package found in the trunk.

Authorities have not said what was in the package, only that it was not mechanical.
