Nas is doing good. The single dad is helping another father in need find a home for his eight kids.

The 'Life Is Good' rapper started a crowd-sourced fundraiser to help Stanley Young, an unemployed construction worker in D.C., find a new residence after a fire destroyed his home. "They will be kicked out by August 13th if we don't do something to help now," Nas wrote on the Crowd Tilt site.

The Queensbridge, N.Y., native put $5,000 towards the $20,000 goal and then another $5,000 when that goal was hit. The fundraiser has raised more than $27,000.

"I am also a single father, and we don't get enough credit in this country. I'm committed to helping Stanley and his eight (yes 8!) kids. Moreover, I believe and hope that we should all, as a community, come together to help our fellow American men and women when they need us in desperate situations like this. See if you can't find a few dollars to help the Youngs get back on their feet with me. We need to raise enough to extend their stay, and maybe even afford a down payment on a new house or something," the rhymer also wrote on Crowd Tilt.

There are nine days left until the campaign ends. Head over to Crowd Tilt to contribute.
