With Summer on the horizon and school about to be out, Temple Parks Foundation is set to start their 2018 Movies in the Park series.

The series, sponsored by McLane Children’s Scott & White in Temple, will begin Saturday, May 26th at Miller Park in Temple.

The first screening is of the live action version of Beauty and the Beast.

Temple Parks Foundation President Allan Einboden said, "We are thrilled to be partnering again with McLane Children’s to kick off another great season of Movies in the Park with the first showing of Beauty and the Beast."

McLane Children's Hospital will offer activities for the children before the movie begins. The pre-movie activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the movie will begin at sundown.

Movies in the park is free of charge and open to everyonec. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, or whatever you need to enjoy the movie. Concessions will be available for purchase at the venue as well.

Kevin Beavers, Temple Parks & Recreation Director said, "Over the last 13 years, Movies in the Park has become a favorite summertime tradition here in Temple and we are pleased that the Temple Parks Foundation is again producing this event – something they have done since 2006."

The Movies in the Park series will come to an end on June 16th at West Temple Park with a showing of The Greatest Snowman brought to you by H-E-B.
