McLennan County Hosts Beat the Heat Program

McLennan County residents will be able to get assistance with staying cool during the Texas summer.

The Salvation Army is starting the annual Beat the Heat program tomorrow, in which qualified TXU customers can get a free box fan and AC window unit.

The Salvation Army asks that those participating in the program bring a photo ID, social security card, current lease agreement, copy of current TXU bill, and doctor's note verifying a health condition which allows the customer to qualify for a free unit.
