Police in Germantown, Maryland have released 911 tapes related to the deaths of two children at the hands of two women who believed they were performing an exorcism.

The release of the tapes came two days after authorities charged Monifa Sanford and Zakieya Latrice Avery with killing two of Avery’s children (ages 1 and 2) and injuring two others (ages 5 and 8).

Police in Germantown, a suburb of Washington D.C., were initially called to home of the two women Thursday after receiving a 911 call about an unattended child in a vehicle. When they arrived, the child was gone. They returned to the home Friday after a neighbor called 911 after noticing a bloody knife near a car with its door left open.

Inside the home, police found the two murdered children. They had received multiple stab wounds.
