Mariah Carey is headed back to her old employer -- Fox. The former 'American Idol' judge will lend her voice to a role on the network's animated comedy 'American Dad.'

Mimi's episode will air on Nov. 24, the same night as the American Music Awards and the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving.

She will be playing a character who is the polar opposite of her, too.

Carey will voice Laura, a football fan who invites the American Dad aka Stan to be her tailgating partner. In the end, Laura isn't real. She is just someone imagined by Stan during his Thanksgiving events at his in-laws.

Executive producer Matt Weitzman said that Carey nailed her role. He revealed, "She’d never done voiceover work before, but she was clearly so comfortable in front of the mike. She’s naturally funny." While Mimi may have been a voiceover virgin, she does have acting experience, taking an unexpected turn in a decidedly non-glam role in 'Precious' a few years back and more recently the role of Hattie Pearl in 'The Butler.'

Mariah on 'American Dad?' Now this we gotta see. Will you be tuning in, PopCrushers and lambs?
