Police in Killeen found a suspicious package in a car parked outside of a bank early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the USAA Bank at 900 West Central Texas Expressway around 5:45 a.m. after receiving a call about a vehicle parked outside. Upon arrival, they approached the vehicle and found a 27-year-old man inside and a suspicious package in the trunk.

Police closed the parking lot and called for assistance from firefighters and soldiers with a Fort Hood explosive ordinance disposal unit. A small robot was deployed, and authorities determined that the package was not mechanical in nature. The parking lot was reopened after crews gave the all-clear.

Police have not said what was inside the package. The man in the car was taken into custody, but it was not clear if he was under arrest.
