A two-hour standoff with Killeen Police Department's SWAT team led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man on Friday.

A domestic disturbance was reported at an apartment on Hereford Lane at 1:46 Friday morning.

Witnesses reported that a man inside the residence was holding a woman against her will. They claimed that the couple had been arguing outside before the man forced the woman inside. The woman yelled for help and said the man was not allowing her to leave.

Arguing could be heard inside the residence, but neither of the two responded to the department's attempts to make contact.

Officers called in the Tactical Response Unit, believing that weapons may have been inside.

After more than two hours, a SWAT team crisis negotiator was able to make contact with the couple. They agreed to exit the apartment.

The man was taken into custody on unrelated misdemeanor warrants. The 27-year-old woman was released at the scene.
