Mailman Saves Choking Baby

Eli Cooper gets to celebrate his first birthday, thanks to the mailman who saved his life.

It happened in a South Carolina neighborhood.  When Eli started choking on a plastic wrapper, his mom, Stephanie ran out the front door and there was the mailman. Chris Brown saw what was happening, grabbed the kid, did the Heimlich Maneuver on him and it worked!

In all his 24 years with the Post Office, this is the first time Chris has ever had to save a choking baby on his route.  Thanks to Post Office emergency training, he knew what to do.

Eli's parents call him a hero. A title Chris humbly declines.
