We're well aware that times are changing and a lot of you don't have "radios" in your homes like we used to back in the day. But technology has evolved to where you can have one in your crib thanks to "smart speakers" like Amazon's Echo.

On my recent trip to Minneapolis, I entered a contest and won a new Amazon Echo Show 5, one of the latest Amazon products and I couldn't wait to tear into it and check it out.

When I got it open I found myself trying to repeatedly trying to get MyKiss1031 to come up but it kept bringing me to other radio stations. You would have thought with as much on air promotion I do to encourage you to listen via "Alexa" I would have had this all figured out by now but even us old dogs could stand to learn new tricks.

So I tore into the instruction manual and realized that in order to get MyKiss to play on Alexa, I had to download the skill inside the Amazon Alexa app. You see, "skills" are the equivalent of "apps" for Alexa. In order to use a skill you have to first download it to your Alexa app.

So here's what you need to do:

  1. Open Your Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Go to "Skills & Games"
  3. Use the "magnifying glass" in the upper right corner and search "KSSM".
  4. Select "Kiss 1031" and then "Enable Skill" and you're ready to go!

Then just say "Alexa, play Kiss FM 1031" and watch the magic happen as a guy you probably know welcomes you!
