Another one of our elders has been called home as we are sad to inform you of the passing of Alice W. Douse. According to The Killeen Daily Herald, Douse was KISD's first black, female principal and one of the founding members of Anderson Chapel A.M.E. Church in Killeen. A Killeen ISD elementary school currently under construction was named Alice W. Douse in her honor and its set to open in 2017. Her impact on many of her students and teachers will be remembered for a long time.

The Kiss-FM and Townsquare Media Family would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and the many students and staff that she's helped over her 30 years of education and community leader.
