The Killeen Independent School District has said yes to new rules designed to keep electronic cigarettes off campus.Last night, KISD Board of Trustees voted to ban advertising of the liquid nicotine products from school publications, such as student newspapers and yearbooks.

The Killeen Daily Herald reports the board also voted to amend the district’s dress code to ban clothing that promotes or depicts the use of liquid nicotine products. They also voted to prohibit the use, sale or promotion of liquid nicotine products during non-school events held on campuses.

The Board created the new tobacco rules because those in place did not specifically ban e-cigarettes.
