Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Killeen Friday night as 38-year-old Jonathan Samuel Arthur.

A preliminary investigation suggests that Arthur got into a fight with another man in the parking lot of the Shell convenience store at 1600 North Roy Reynolds Drive shortly before 9 PM on October 7.

Shots were fired, and Arthur was critically wounded. The other man fled north on foot.

Emergency responders tried to render aid to Arthur, but he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:54 PM. His body was sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy.
