A Killeen ISD student has been charged with with a felony after reportedly making a bomb threat while aboard a school bus Wednesday morning.

According to KISD Career Center Principal Russell Porterfield, the student was aboard a bus en route to to the Career Center around 9 AM when he penned a written bomb threat on a sigh-in sheet.

The threat was taken seriously, and students aboard the vehicle were searched and interviewed by KISD Police. The student in question reportedly confessed to the threat. He's been charged with making a terroristic threat.

Police and KISD officials say the threat was a hoax, and that there was never any danger to students or staff. However, the district practices a zero tolerance policy, and takes all threats seriously.

"Please talk with your students and help us to make clear that no threat of any kind will ever be tolerated," Principal Porterfield. "These types of threats are serious crimes and we will always aggressively investigate and help prosecute any students who make such threats.”
