Despite recent news to the contrary, according to a recent national study, Killeen has seen a DECREASE in crime over the last few years.

According to a press release from The City Of KilleenFindTheHome, a real estate data site, studied crime data in United States cities with populations over 100,000. Killeen had one of the largest crime decreases between 2010 and 2015. Utilizing FBI Uniform Crime Reporting statistics, analysis compared the crime rate average from 2010 to 2012 to the crime rate average from 2013 to 2015 and measured the percentage decrease. 2015 is the most recent full year of data.

Killeen ranked #12 on the list of 96 cities with a reduction in crime more than the national average of eight percent with a reduction of 21 percent.
