The BET Hip Hop Awards are just around the corner, and there's been a few details released about the famous cyphers: the lineup and reports of Kendrick Lamar performing another outstanding verse.

Shots were fired in Lamar's performance and one of the targets was Drake. AllHipHop.com released a 15-second video confirming this happened during the Top Dawg Entertainment freestyle featuring Schoolboy Q and more.

"Nothing's been the same since they dropped 'Control' / And tucked the sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes," Lamar raps. "Ha-ha, jokes on you / High-five, I'm bullet proof / Your s---will never penetrate / Pin the tail on the donkey boy, you've been a fake." Lamar references Drake's album title and his own game-changing verse on ‘Control.’

The diss doesn't come unprovoked because Drake has made what's been perceived as subliminal shots at Lamar's verse in interviews. In his interview with Billboard magazine, Drake said, “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”

Drake later offered a pretty backhanded compliment to the verse during his interview with journalist Elliott Wilson on CRWN. "That ['Control'] verse was a moment to talk about. Are you listening to it now, though?" Drake questioned Wilson and the audience.

"He didn't come in there on some wild, 'I'm in New York, f--- everybody.' I almost wish he had come in there on that s--- because I kind of lost a little bit of respect for the sentiment of the verse," Drake continued. "If it's really 'f--- everybody' then it needs to be 'f--- everybody'. It can't just be halfway."

Another perceived subliminal shot was on 'The Language,' off 'Nothing Was the Same.' "I don't know why they been lying but your s--- is not that inspiring," Drake raps.

These sideways references were in response to Lamar explicitly calling him out among a list of rappers in his 'Control' verse. Drake is the only rapper Lamar responded to through a verse.

The cypher featuring Kendrick Lamar can be watched in full when the BET Hip Hop Awards air on Oct. 15 at 8PM.
