Kanye West Performs ‘Wolves’ With Sia & Vic Mensa on ‘Saturday Night Live’ 40th Anniversary Special [VIDEO]
In its 40-year history, Saturday Night Live is known for its comedic brilliance, but the famed sketch-comedy series is also known for its exciting musical guest performances. Rapper-producer Kanye West was among the acts performing on the show's 40th anniversary special. Yeezy blessed viewers with a strange three-song medley on Sunday night (Feb. 15).
Beginning his performance lying on his back with his eyes closed, West performed his 2004 spiritual hit "Jesus Walks" as he spit the first verse with vigor. Afterward, 'Ye slowly transitioned into the lullaby ballad, "Only One," and sounded a little hoarse.
Finally, West performed 'Wolves,' a song he unveiled last week during his presentation of his Adidas clothing line. The rapper was then joined onstage by fellow Chicago rhymer Vic Mensa and singer-songwriter Sia, who donned a huge white wig, which hid her face. Mensa performed the second verse of the song, showing off his vocal chops and receiving the biggest look he's had in his career thus far.
In the end, West's performance was both intriguing and entertaining, giving fans a sneak peek into his newer work. Hopefully, the MC will release a studio quality version of "Wolves" real soon, which will be the icing on the cake and a blessing for our ears.
