JoJo’s Throwback Jam Of The Week: “U Got Me” -The Roots

This week's Throwback Jam comes from the legendary Roots Crew! From the 1999 Grammy Award winning single featuring Erykah Badu and Eve written by a relatively unknown singer/songwriter (at the time) Jill Scott called "U Got Me".

The song deals with how complicated relationships can get especially when both partners are always working. The backstory is equally fascinating as Jill Scott was originally tapped to sing the hook but because she hadn't broken through yet, Erykah Badu was asked to perform the song which would earn the group a Grammy.
