'Primetime' was one of the highlights of Janelle Monae's 'The Electric Lady.' It was easily one of the more marketable tracks because of that Miguel feature. The two vocal powerhouses singing together on an R&B slow jam? That's not a bad reason to make a music video for the song.

In the visual, Miguel plays Joey Vice, a good looking young chap wearing biker attire. He's on a mission to find love at the Electric Sheep nightclub. Monae plays Cindi Mayweather, a hostess at the club, which features electronically-activated dancers. It all works into the 'Electric Lady' plotline in her album, you see.

Mayweather gets mad when a guest decides to get feisty and storms off after a quick argument with her manager. Of course, this is Miguel's 'PrimeTime' to chase after her and attempt to woo his lady.

The video, which is described as an "emotion picture," is directed by Alan Ferguson. He's previously worked with Monae on her 'Many Moons' video.

'PrimeTime' is the third single off 'The Electric Lady.' Although the album peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200, none of her singles have charted yet.
