It is estimated that 10% of Americans suffer from credit/ATM card fraud each year.  Is your account as safe as you think it is?  I have lost my debit card a few times and I know my wife has as well, but luckily we have realized quickly and were able to cancel it before someone found it and used it.  However a statistic that scared me was that 25% of the time a thief can guess your PIN in the first 20 guesses.  For those of you that have the following PIN numbers, you might consider changing them as they are the most common.

The 10 most-used PINs:

  1. 1234
  2. 1111
  3. 0000
  4. 1212
  5. 7777
  6. 1004
  7. 2000
  8. 4444
  9. 2222
  10. 6969
Just for future knowledge the number that is used the LEAST is 6086.  However now that this information has been released that will probably jump up on the list!
Change your PIN to something that has no personal significance and don't write it down on your card or in your wallet.
