Traffic on northbound I-35 was being diverted Tuesday morning after two 18-wheelers collided, causing one to catch fire and causing hours-long delays.

The crash occurred in Bruceville-Eddy near mile marker 316 around 4:30 am. Both drivers escaped without serious injury, but emergency workers closed the northbound lane due to the fire and debris.

Police begin diverting traffic onto State Highway 107 and to U.S. Highway 77 as firefighters extinguished the flames. TexDOT workers clearing the roadway estimated that portion of the highway could be closed until around 9am.
