I-35 Frontage Roads Closed Over Nolan Creek in Belton

North and southbound I-35 frontage roads in Belton at Exit 294 A and the Central Avenue Exit will be closed overnight as a precaution due to their crossing the flooded Nolan Creek.

In a news alert TxDOT's Jodi Wheatley advised drivers to find alternate routes and avoid flooded areas on all Central Texas roads.

It only takes a few inches of water on a roadway to cause a vehicle to become buoyant enough to be swept away. Vehicles can also stall if drivers attempt to maneuver through high waters. It's just not worth taking the risk, folks. Please turn around and don't drown.
