An issue with right-of-way purchases on the I-35 construction project has caused an abrupt stop in the work done on the flyover bridge alongside U.S. Highway 190.

A fast paced work schedule put the contractor ahead of land purchases. Construction should resume this fall.

Officials from the Texas Department of Transportation say the elevated roadway is expected to connect northbound I-35 to westbound U.S. 190 by the fall of 2015.

The flyover is part of a project to expand I-35 between Salado and Belton.
