Austin police shut down the intersection of Sixth and Trinity Streets Sunday for a massive water balloon and squirt gun fight.

Statesman.com posted the video above after the Splash Mob water fight ended this weekend in the capital city. Hundreds of participants waited for a bullhorn to sound off and then the water battle was underway.

Tiny bits of water balloons lay all over the intersection after the battle ended. This was the 7th Annual Austin Splash mob. Participants showed up with everything from water balloons to water cannons and even laser seeking water grenades! One person brought a pickup truck outfitted with a water tank and hose.

Looks like some pretty great summertime fun! The intersection stayed closed for about half an hour. The Statesman says about 500 people in all took part in the fun.
