“Hollywood Diva” Golden Brooks Defends Reality Show Portrayal

The TVOne "reality" series "Hollywood Divas" showcases the drama behind the scenes that black women have to experience in the harsh entertainment industry. Actress Golden Brooks ("Girlfriends", "Beauty Shop") is one of its stars and she says there is a real difference between the "scripted" world that she comes from and the "reality" of having cameras following you around daily.

She discussed this viewpoint with Melz On The MIC on the "The Takeover" and also defended shows like "Hollywood Divas" which many detractors say portrays African-American women in a negative light due to all the "drama" involved.
