What a time to be alive.

As a man in his early 40's who is also dealing with a rapidly receding hairline, I've accepted the fact that my parents genetics won't allow for me to enjoy a full head of hair anymore. Yes, I have tried to "conceal" or "hide" my scalp through different means (hats, hair dye) but I came to realize that going through all of that is just too much. For a lot of guys, losing their hair can be damaging to one's ego and I understand. BUT THIS IS DOING THE MOST.

F*ck around and rub a dude head and his hair peel back... (🎥: @adrinthebarber)

I'm quite sure you've seen these videos recently all over social media of barber shops and stylists showcasing "Man Weaves" that come in different varieties for men. You can walk in bald and walk out with a full head of dreadlocks in a few hours. There's even "lacefront beards" if you are having trouble growing facial hair.

Now we're aware that the ladies have been doing this for a long time and after some backlash, we've learned to accept it and we men have learned to adjust to it. You'll be hard pressed to find a guy that will instant ask to "rub his fingers through your hair" before first verifying that its YOUR HAIR. But ladies could YOU adjust to your man having a man weave or a fake beard? Better yet, could you deal with him waking up every morning asking "Hey babe, can I borrow some of YOUR products to fix my weave?"

Everybody has the right to feel good about themselves and whatever steps you want to take to regain your confidence is fine by me. Just remember, when you sit down in that chair and your stylist starts spreading glue all around your cranium, to ask yourself WHY your SELF-esteem is so low that you would resort to this extreme. In my experience, CONFIDENCE ranks higher than a full head of hair in terms of attracting ladies so work on that INNER quality before you consider going this route.

In the words of the late great Teddy Pendergrass, "I think you better let it go". Bless they hearts Bishop.
