18-year-old Efrem Trevon Edwards of Harker Heights was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting and robbing a 17-year-old.

The victim was walking home from school on October 2 when Edwards and another man allegedly pulled a car alongside him and asked to borrow his cellphone. The victim told police he knew Edwards stole cellphones, so he refused. Edwards allegedly drove away before returning shortly afterward and asking to borrow the phone again. When the victim refused, Edwards and another men not yet identified exited the car and began punching the victim.

A woman who knew the victim and the two men drove up to the scene and began sounding the horn of her car until the assault stopped. She later identified the two men to police by showing them their Facebook pages, and the victim identified Edwards in a photo lineup.

Edwards has been charged with robbery and bodily injury. His bail has been set at $100,000.
