Happy Birthday, Monica! The R&B songbird is turning 37 today (October 24).

Of course, Monica has been in the spotlight since the tender age of 14, when she dropped her Dallas Austin-produced debut album Miss Thang. She's enjoyed several hit singles in her almost 25 year career: "Before You Walk Out of My Life," the Brandy duet "The Boy Is Mine," "First Night," "Angel of Mine," "So Gone," and "Everything To Me."

These days, Monica is a wife and mother who maintains one of the more consistent careers in R&B. Her most recent album is 2015s Code Red, and one of her biggest hits experienced a viral resurgence last year via "The So Gone Challenge." She also departed her longtime label RCA.

And Monica is happy and healthy after facing an illness earlier this year. In June 2016, the veteran R&B singer underwent surgery to remove endometriosis, 2 cysts, fibroids and a hernia. According to the Mayo Clinic, endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of the woman's uterus — the endometrium — grows outside the uterus.

Via Instagram, Monica let fans know she was on the mend.

"In life we have to count it all joy and know the unplanned may be in his plan💓May 30th I had an almost 8 hour surgery to remove my endometriosis (which I didn't know I had until two weeks prior) , 2 cysts, fibroids & a hernia that all were making me very sick," she wrote. "I've known something was wrong but I also knew victory & better health would be near again!! Thank you Dr. Ceana Nezhat & Northside Hospital Staff!"

Happy Birthday!
