Having aired its two-part Beatles tribute, 'Glee' season 5 will next tackle the difficult subject of addressing Cory Monteith's tragic death in next week's "Farewell to Finn" tribute, "The Quarterback." The first footage of the somber new episode has emerged, along with new comments from series creator Ryan Murphy on filming of the difficult episode.

"What you will see in the episode is what really happened," Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter of shooting. "Brad [Falchuk] and Ian [Brennan] and I wrote that episode and Brad directed it, and those performances that you'll see, almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it."

The first footage from the hour that aired with Thursday's "Tina in the Sky with Diamonds" featured several heartfelt moments paying tribute to the actor, who was found dead of heroin and alcohol abuse in a Vancouver hotel room this past summer at the age of 31. In addition to students crafting several memorials to the tune of Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love,” Kurt is seen wearing his erstwhile brother's jacket, while Rachel (Lea Michele) makes a somber appearance toward the end with Mr. Schuester.

Additionally, MJsBigBlog reported what may end up being the final track list for the hour, in which Michele appears and sings only toward the very end:

  1. Seasons Of Love from Rent
  2. I’ll Stand By You by The Pretenders – Sung by Mercedes (Amber Riley)
  3. Fire and Rain by James Taylor
  4. If I Die Young by The Band Perry – Sung by Santana (Naya Rivera)
  5. No Surrender by Bruce Springsteen
  6. Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan/Adele – Sung by Rachel (Lea Michele)

"The Quarterback" will air next Thursday, along with several addiction PSAs from the cast, while you can take a first look at 'Glee''s emotional "Farewell to Finn" in the trailer above.
