CBSDFW shared the video above of a cattle drive through the parking lot of a Fort Worth shopping mall this week as a way to call attention to the Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign. That's right. Time to ring the bells!

Complete with wagons, a mini-train, costumed cowboys, and the Salvation Army brass band, plenty of folks were on hand to kick off the campaign. They even rang cowbells instead of the usual Salvation Army bells.

A few cows broke away from the herd and had shoppers jumping out of the way but it was all in good fun. The Salvation Army did give shoppers a heads up with a press release that reminded patrons that the cows are not actors and they are not on ropes or leashes. In year's past, a cowboy had to chase a cow to I-30 and one year another cow broke a plate glass window at JCPenny.

It sure got everyone's attention! And now Fort Worth is well aware the red kettles are now in place for the holiday season. Be sure to give the folks ringing the bells all day a big smile when you see them.
