According to CNN, Former New England Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first degree murder which carries a penalty of life in prison. 

 

Hernandez was on trial for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd, an former acquaintance of Hernandez whose body was found in a Massachusetts industrial park in 2013.

Hernandez was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. While Hernandez's defense maintains that their client only "witnessed" the murder, the jury and apparent evidence thought otherwise. We'll update this story as details continue to emerge.
