Responsible gun ownership has been a hotter topic that ever lately, and a man is now fighting for his life in a Houston hospital because of someone's lack of care or responsibility.

KTRK-TV reports that Devyn Holmes was shot in the head around 2 AM Easter Sunday while sitting in a car with two people playing with guns on Facebook Live.

In the video, a woman sitting up front with Holmes is seen pointing the gun at him. Holmes remarks that she's making him nervous, to which a man in the backseat replies, "It ain't got no clip, bud."

Holmes' last words before the gun was fired were, "Hey, where you from again?" A mere moment after asking the question, he was shot in the head by the woman.

Holmes is now listed in critical condition at Ben Taub Hospital. His family, including a 5-year-old daughter, are asking for prayers.

Meanwhile, the woman who shot Holmes has only been charged with evidence tampering. KTRK reports that she tried to wipe her hands before police conducted a gun powder residue test.

With the national debate concerning the Second Amendment flaring to unprecedented intensity in the wake of the February 14 mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, it's incredibly frustrating to see anyone behaving so ignorantly and recklessly with a firearm. Unfortunately for people on both sides of the debate, no legislation can put a cork in irrationality.
