The 2015 Billboard Music Awards are just hours away and you know what that means: stop what you're doing and tune in to see the red carpet glamor (or fiascos), the big winners and some memorable collaborations onstage.

Sam Smith had a strong year with his debut album, In the Lonely Hour, and has not only become a finalist at this year's awards show but raked in the most nominations with 13, including Top New Artist. Iggy Azalea, a Top Hot 100 Artist nominee, and John Legend, who receives a Top R&B Album nod, take the runner-up positions with 12 and seven nominations, respectively.

Pharrell Williams came out with a solid six nods for categories like Top Male Artist while Nicki Minaj, who will also be performing at the event, and Drake, who earned a nomination for Top Rap Artist, both have four apiece. And although Sam's chances of winning are pretty high with all of his nominations, his current health issues and recent surgery means that we won't be seeing the "I'm Not the Only One" crooner on the red carpet. You can find the full list of nominees here.

Although the show honors the most successful artists on the Billboard charts over the past year, there are also a lot of big performances that are taking place this evening (May 17). Mariah Carey, who releases her new album, #1 to Infinity, on May 18, will likely perform her new song "Infinity." Kanye West will take the BBMA stage for the very first time and will have the honor of closing the show. Hopefully the rapper will showcase new tracks from his upcoming album, Swish.

While those acts are something to look forward to, the ceremony will also feature numerous collaborations, which bridge the gaps between musical genres. Britney Spears and Iggy will take the stage to perform their new collaboration, “Pretty Girls," and Nicki Minaj joins forces with David Guetta for another new collabo "Hey Mama."

Empire stars Jussie Smollett and Bryshere “Yazz” Gray are teaming up with Estelle onstage for “Conqueror” while Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa will hit the stage together. Wiz will also be performing his hit song off the Furious 7 soundtrack, "See You Again," with YouTube sensation Charlie Puth, who's featured on the song, and Lindsey Stirling, who'll likely be playing the violin. In addition, Meghan Trainor and John Legend are performing their duet, “Like I’m Gonna Lose You."

And Billboard just announced that Chris Brown and Pitbull will be reuniting onstage for their track, "Fun." Perhaps they really made an impression after their high-energy performance on the American Idol season finale.

The 2015 Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Ludacris and Legend's wife Chrissy Teigen, will air live from Las Vegas at 8PM ET on ABC. You can see the star-studded arrivals during E!'s Live From the Red Carpet: The 2015 Billboard Music Awards live at 6PM ET or visit the network's website.
