Emancipet Grand Opening is February 15 in Killeen
Emancipet will be opening soon in Killeen, you can come find out what it’s all about at the “Get To Know Us” special event, Saturday, Feb 15 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., with free activities for the entire family.
Open House on Feb. 15 includes music, food vendors and free kids activities, like a bounce house and face painting.
So what is Emancipet? It’s a low cost healthy pet clinic, designed to cut down on the homeless pet population. According to Emancipet, Bell County has between 7,000-8,000 homeless animals per year, and about half are euthanized.
Emancipet is trying to take care of that problem, making spay/neuter services and preventive veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners through its low-cost clinics.
In Killeen the clinic is set up in a 48-foot gooseneck trailer at 208 West Avenue A, on the property of the United Way of the Greater Fort Hood Area.
Starting February 18, Emancipet will be open Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Vaccinations are provided on a walk-in basis during the clinic’s open hours. Spay/neuter services are provided by appointment by phone 254-415-4950 or online at www.emancipet.org/killeen.
“Solving animal homelessness is a movement that everyone in the community can be part of.” Amy Mills of Emancipet said, “By helping to spread the word about Emancipet’s safe, affordable, spay/neuter and preventive services for pets, individuals and organizations can make Bell County a better place for animals.”
