A Killeen man was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon when his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck.

79-year-old Ronald Boyce was leaving the parking lot of the Centroplex Recycling Center at 2400 E Veterans Memorial Blvd. around 2 PM when he was struck by a Dodge pickup. Police say Boyce was attempting to cross the road on his bicycle.

Boyce was transported by ambulance to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Once stablized, he was transferred by air to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple where he later passed away as a result of his injuries. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace David Barfield at 4:52 PM.

The driver of the pickup was not injured. After an investigation of the collision, police said they will not press charges against the driver.
