We know last year's presidential election was enough to make you not want to even bother with voting but its VERY important that you pay attention to what's going on locally because while the ramifications of decisions made by Austin and D.C. could take years to effect us, local elections affect YOU DIRECTLY almost immediately and its important to know all the facts.

Early voting for several Killeen City Council seats and KISD board seats are underway beginning April 24th through May 2nd. Election Day is May 6th.

The Killeen City Council has 4 District seats on the ballot according to The Killeen Daily Herald while one city council seat in Harker Heights (Place 3) is up for grabs. The Killeen Independent School District has 2 at-large seats up for grabs. Belton ISD and Salado are also holding elections for seats in those areas.

Considering Killeen's budget crisis last year and trouble in KISD's special education program, you definitely need to pay attention to what's going on here at HOME! For a list of polling locations, you can click on The Killeen Daily Herald's website.
