Fires over the weekend at apartment complexes in Temple and Harker Heights have displaced over 40 residents and the Central Texas community is coming together to help out! Over this past weekend, a fire at the Lookout Ridge apartments in Harker Heights displaced 21 residents including one family with children. The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce will be collecting donations of clothing and other necessities at their office at 552 E. FM 2410 Suite B and please donate whatever you can, if you have large items like furniture and kitchen items, please call in advance at 254-699-4999.

Also, 29 residents of the Wayman Manor Apartments in Temple lost their belongings to a fire on Sunday morning. The American Red Cross is currently assisting those families and if you would like to help them, you can by calling the Red Cross at 512-928-4271 if you would like to make a cash donation.
