A local constable wounded in a two-car collision in Temple Wednesday evening has passed away.

69-year-old Bell County Deputy Constable Jeffrey Radford was seriously injured after his patrol car collided with an SUV at the intersection of N.E. HK Dodgen Loop and Lucious McCelvey drive around 7 PM. He was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where he later died.

Two people in the SUV were also transported to Scott & White witn non-life threatening injuries.

Our news partner KWTX reports that police believe Radford failed to yield right of way at the intersection. Radford had been a constable for two years.
