The City of Killeen will close a portion of Daisy Drive this week so crews can get to a sewer line in need of emergency repairs.

Daisy Drive will be closed from Marigold Drive to Zinnia Drive between the hours of 7 AM and 4 PM on Tuesday, January 29 and Wednesday, January 30.

"The closure is for emergency repairs to a sewer line that must be accessed through the roadway," City of Killeen Communications Coordinator Keela Vaughn said Monday. "Traffic will be detoured during work hours, and motorists are asked to use caution and obey traffic control devices. Alternate routes will be required. The City of Killeen apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of this work and appreciates your cooperation as we finish this project."

The affected portion of Daisy Drive lies a few blocks west of US190/Interstate 14 near the TownePlace Suites by Mariott. Check out the map below and make plans to go around if your daytime route takes you through the area. You don't want to drive through a work zone, and you certainly don't want to smell whatever's comin' out of that sewer line.
