Two people were arrested in Copperas Cove recently, charged with possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram.

Chris Donte Thomas and Edith Louise Tratt were pulled over by Cove police around 1 a.m. Friday after Thomas failed to use a turn signal. Thomas consented to a search of his vehicle and person, during which police found a digital scale in his back pocket and a small bag containing methamphetamine under the driver’s seat.

Officers then asked Tratt if she was carrying anything illegal. Tratt handed them an eyeglass case containing a syringe loaded with what later tested positive for methamphetamine.

The two were arraigned on Friday with bond for each set at $7,500.
