There's a party going on Saturday, October 3 in downtown Copperas Cove!

Cove Police will host a National Night Out Kickoff Party at Avenue E and South Main Street from 6-8 p.m. Child and adult activities will either be free or cost no more than a quarter, and hotdogs, chips, cookies, popcorn, and soft drinks will be served.

McGruff the Crime Dog, Sparky the Fire Dog, Recycle Michael, Eddie Eagle, and H.E. Buddy will also be there for the 6th annual Mascot Dance-Off set to music provided by the YMCA.

National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6 from 6-9 p.m. Police across the country are inviting citizens to lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and mingle with their neighbors by throwing a block party, cookout, or other social activity.

Anyone wanting to host a block party with a little help from the police department should contact Sgt. Martin Ruiz at (254) 547-8222, Ext. 6956. The form can also be downloaded from the City Website at www.copperascovetx.gov or picked up at the Copperas Cove Police Department, 302 E Ave E.
