Shocking news from the world of comedy as comedian Charlie Murphy, known as Eddie Murphy's brother but became a legend in comedy through his own stand-up appearances and sketches from "Chappelle's Show" has passed away at the age of 57 according to TMZ.

Murphy was mostly recently a member of "The Comedy Get Down" tour with fellow comics D.L. Hugley, Cedric The Entertainer, George Lopez and Eddie Griffin. According to Charlie's manager, he was in NYC undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia at the time of his passing.

Melz On The MIC interviewed Charlie last year and they discussed a wide range of topics from comedy to politics and the passing of Prince. We send our condolences to The Murphy Family and the comedy community on this tragic loss.
